Time for another one….so since my last blog we took a team to Ready Steady Light, and we didn’t win but we did have a good time and learnt a lot – basically you design needs to be as unusual as possible to win!We visited the very impressive Thorn Academy of Light and Scott and Dan C flew the flag at LightScene Kilmarnock. There’s been a few regional events too such as the L&SE AGM and Tech Meeting, Northern Region Dinner Dance and so on but the real stand out event has to be our very own Dan Robinson running the London Marathon in a very respectable time of 5hrs 20…I might have made it in 5 days 20 hrs so well done to Dan and all for a good cause. YLP ran a ‘Guess the YLP Baby’ at the L&SE region meeting and raised £58.50 to add to Dan’s sponsorship.
Next on the agenda is the Midlands Back to Basics (more info on the events page) which has been organised by Ben Byram our Midlands Representative. Try to come along if you can its going to be a great day with some interesting papers and a crash car simulator!
Congratulations to Peter Burbidge who is joining the L&SE Technical Liaison Officer Committee. We look forward to the feedback from Peter following the meeting on the 25th.
Exciting times ahead for all with the ILE Extraordinary General Meeting in June, Guerrilla Lighting in Southwark, a visit to ALC in Swansea, Jointed-up lighting…what more could a girl want?
